Department Board of Management
The Department of Mechanical Engineering is headed
by the Dean, two Vice Deans and the Dean of Studies,
elected by the faculty of the department every three years.
In order to facilitate communication and to put decisions
onto a broader base a Department Board of Management
was established in 2014. It comprises the deans and
representatives of groups of professors. The Department
Board of Management acts as an advisor to the Dean; the
responsibility of the Departmental Board (‘Fakultätsrat’)
regarding formal academic matters remains untouched.
