The Department Council is the central decision-making
body of the department and is headed by the Dean. Here
fundamental decisions are made, which effect the depart-
ment but which are not the responsibility of the Dean,
Dean of Studies or other decision-making bodies of the
department, such as the Examination Board. Furthermore,
the Department Council acts as a central communication
platform, where representatives from the department's
various different membership groups can exchange
information and voice opinions.
In the current legislative period (01.10.2016-30.09.2017),
the following people are members of the Department
Council of the TUM Department of Mechanical Engineer-
ing. They represent professors, scientific employees,
non-scientific employees, students and female staff. In
addition, there are permanent guests (without voting
rights), who may take part in meetings of the Department
Council.
